H.E. Trizin Tsering Rinpoche

A Life of Building Sacred Culture

He embodies non-sectarian Buddhism: when asked his school, he answers simply—“Buddhism.” His approach unites lineage fidelity, social compassion, and architectural Dharma—sacred works that teach without words.

“A sacred monument can steady a society’s heart—teaching calm, courage, and compassion without speaking a word.”

Choekhor Choeten Tashi Gomang Dulugara • Dhammakaya Stupa, West Bengal (108 ft)

Under the instruction of his root teacher, H.E. Kalu Rinpoche, the Long-Life Master began constructing the Choekhor Choeten Tashi Gomang Dulugara — also known as the Dhammakaya Stupa — in West Bengal, India. Standing at 108 feet, it was built as an offering to benefit beings affected by violence and to purify the collective karma of conflict. In parallel, 108 smaller stupas were also built around the main structure, each symbolizing the purification of the 108 defilements in Buddhist practice. The entire project spanned nearly a decade and became his first monumental architectural accomplishment, completed shortly after Venerable Kalu Rinpoche entered Nirvana.

128 Stupas at Sherab Ling Monastery, India

Between 1990 and 1992, under the guidance of H.E. Kalu Rinpoche’s spiritual lineage, Trizin Tsering Rinpoche oversaw the construction of 128 stupas within Sherab Ling Monastery in northern India. Each stupa was dedicated to commemorate the Eight Great Deeds of the Buddha — Birth, Enlightenment, Turning the Wheel of Dharma, Miracles, Descent from Heaven, Reconciliation, Longevity, and Parinirvana — symbolizing the full path to liberation. The complex was surrounded by hundreds of smaller stupas, forming a vast field of merit and serving as an enduring site of pilgrimage and practice.

  7. 1995–2025

Mani Kabum • Classic & New Six-Volume Translation

From 1995 to 2004, His Eminence Trizin Tsering Rinpocheundertook a meticulous translation of the Mani Kabum Sutta—the Upper and Lower Parts that reveal the profound teachings of Avalokitesvara, including prophecies, instructions, and his boundless virtues.

This monumental work, originally translated into English for the first time, was completed after 15 years of rigorous effort, devotion, and scholarship.

Beginning in 2021, after reflection and seeing that the original text contained language too deep and complex for most readers, Rinpoche initiated a new translation of the Mani Kabum—a collaborative effort involving monastics with Master’s degrees in Buddhist studies, guided by senior scholar-monks. This revised version ensures that the sacred meaning remains intact while becoming more accessible to ordinary practitioners.

The renewed translation, divided into six volumes corresponding to OM • MA • NI • PAD • ME • HUM, is being translated into both English and Chinese for global circulation.

From 2021 to 2025, Rinpoche also conducted free online classes every Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday via Zoom, personally translating from Tibetan into English—assisted by Geshyelma Rinchen Khandro for the Chinese interpretation. These sessions, attended by global students, concluded in October 2025—marking the completion of this compassionate educational cycle.
